CHERYL LYNN YONKER has studied, performed and taught dance, movement and fitness arts for over 30 years. She has taught Tai Chi for over 10 years in San Francisco, both as an assistant to her main Taiji teacher, and as instructor to her own classes and private clients.
Since 1991 Cheryl has been a student and practitioner of Chen Style Taijiquan under the instruction and direction of Master Zhang Xue Xin, Senior Disciple of famed Grandmaster Feng Zhi Qiang of Beijing, China. She has also studied Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan,-- briefly under Maggie Newman in Philadelphia in 1976 and more recently with Sifu Michael Shaman.
Her high level understanding of both Western movement theory and practice as well as Tai Chi enable her to communicate the principles of movement and subtle intricasies of Taijiquan in ways that her students value highly and that allow them to advance quickly in their practice.
Cheryl is also a practitioner in the art of Rejuvanessence, a holistic massage of the face . People who have experienced her very delicate touch say that it is very relaxing and restoring to the spirit.
