His profession for over 20 years as a flight attendant for Varig International Arilines allowed him to explore the Tai Chi world.  He was stationed for extended periods in Hong Kong  where he availed himself of the opportunity to seek out and study with many accomplished Tai Chi Chuan and Pa Kua masters.

In the early 1990’s. Sifu Estevam became a pioneer of Chen Style Taijiquan in Brazil    He began studying Chen Style Taiji in 1995, following Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang and his teaching system.   In 1998 he hosted a series of workshops and seminars in Rio and various parts of  Brazil for  Grandmaster Chen Xiao Wang, which has since become an annual event.

Sifu Estevam has instructed Tai Chi  workshops in many Brazilian cities as well as abroad, including Los Angeles (USA) and in Paris (France).   He is the Brazilian representative of the Chen Xiao Wang World Tai Ji Quan Association.
